Round Stirrup Ring

Round Stirrup Ring
A$1,290.00
Natural Australian Parti Sapphire 4mm diameter, 9ct yellow gold
The Stirrup Ring dates back from the twelfth century until well into the fourteenth century. With Its distinctive form resembling both a horse stirrup and a gothic arch, these rings were distinguished by an elegant simplicity and were worn by both clergy and laymen. The main feature of the stirrup ring includes a tall profile - simple yet bold/satisfying geometry.
Original iterations from the twelfth century onwards were set with cabochon stones. I wanted to re-interpret this old design using modern faceted gem stones for a more modern and contemporary look.
This ring is made to order with a lead time of approx 2 - 3 weeks from confirmation of order.
